Problems with Link Baits:

Recently, there has been lots of discussion going on about Link Bait Spam. It can be referred to as a new SEO tactic that is being used in a wrong way. That is why it is said that link baits are useful but if they go wrong, they can seriously go wrong.

Doing business is not an easy task on the web because it requires lots of efforts in building good rankings on the search engines like Google, Yahoo or MSN. To achieve this good rankings, some people use excellent contents/keywords and various helpful services while other, looking for shortcuts, use dirty tricks. Link baits can be used as a dirty trick of link building. Many people, who are not getting other sites to link to their site uses various web resources to put those links themselves. Today, this can be easily achieved through blogs, wikis, feedbacks and guest books. Using link baits as a Spam is not that difficult since it doesn’t require expert skills.

In short, Link baits are not Spams but they can be used as a Spam. Link baits are one of the better ways of link building. In fact, many SEO companies only deal with clients that have the ability to include Link Baits. So all link baits are not Spam baits, but some are. However, Paid Links are never Spam so if you ever find a Paid Link, don’t worry; it is not a Spam.
